All children love to sing and drum. These sessions can be used as a structured introduction to singing and drumming in a group using curriculum-based songs or well known pop classics that can then be performed in a concert.

Perfect for a fun and rewarding treat! A brand new, full length song devised and recorded by the students. Or why not use the session to create your very own School Anthem reflecting your school’s unique identity? A workshop for 10-12 KS2 children.

• Typically, these mini projects start with a singing workshop and warmups singing rounds, duets and solos
• We look at pop songs and their structure, breaking them down into verses and choruses and investigate rhyme schemes, chord templates and repetition
• Using a flexible chord template, the children experiment and conjure up a catchy melody and lyrics, perhaps describing the unique and brilliant qualities of your school!
• The song is recorded using state of the art software and mics
• RocknRolePlay mix the track away from the school after which there is an option for us to return with the completed recording for a special singing assembly where we teach it to the whole school

The benefits of singing in a school choir are many. The sharing, the spirit of inclusion, the forging of friendships across the year groups, the chance to perform and not feel the pressure of being the central focus as well as the natural joy of singing itself are central to music, life and schools.

We can offer a highly experienced choir leader who can either start a choir from scratch or transform an existing choir, guaranteeing breathtaking results.

Can be booked as shorter, more traditional sessions, or why not schedule a full day or two for a particular class? We’d simply pick a selection of songs on a theme or of a style and teach them throughout the day(s) culminating in a performance of solos, duets and ensembles to an invited audience. Suitable for one of more groups of 30 students it is ideal as a fun day or for a religious festival, seasonal event or summer concert.

These innovative and fun workshops will marry singing and drumming to set alight the ideas and possibilities of using simple every-day household things as percussion instruments. Shake! Bang! Rattle! And groove your way through these workshops to experience all the joy of rhythm, with the potential to add an end of day performance to share with the school or people from home.

How it works:

• An assembly where our facilitator will demonstrate how anything and everything can be used as a percussion instrument
• Sessions for up to 30 pupils learning rhythms, creating rhythms and playing together as one
